There is a reason that intersectionality speaks so much of colonialism- colonialism taught them everything. Remember the scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, with Indy, a British diplomat, and the boy King, dining on monkey brains and spider legs? The woke are the British diplomat- minding the order of his forks, smiling politely as he dines, internally disgusted, as he carries out the business of the conquerors. There is no difference between this, and what your average aspiring grad student has to sit through in these closed-door struggle sessions. I don't want to go too far here, but I shouldn't have to put the pieces together here for you- the state department is already using explicit intersectionality to harass countries that they would like to open up to the market. When did they start? What’s more important, the affectation or the function?
Intersectionality is the deliverable for the Woke. Wokeness is the embodied ethics of managing intersectionality- in other words, the customs of the priesthood class that ~do the dividing.~ It is not for the ordinary black guy, white guy, asian woman, abuse victim, or anyone but this priesthood.
You will be given woke rules by these people in HR seminars, freshman classes, and so forth- but you are to simply obey. You will never wield these, manipulate these, as if they were actual values for you to understand, and interpret. Feel free to try, this is a rite of passage for people trying class politics in America. You will find funny hypocrisies, absurd contradictions, and outright cruelty. Let me spare you the time- there are designated winners and losers (mostly losers), and you will not circumvent this. This is not a nuance or accident, you are coming in contact with What This Thing Is. When some Indians tried on the red coats and to mimic their oppressors’ customs, the British were disgusted, and redoubled their efforts to glorify the local culture. The colonized didn’t get it. This is not a value system for you, or even them. The red coat is a uniform for a job.
Now, this is outright blasphemy. How can I compare this thing to colonialism? This is outrageous, intersectionality is synonymous with anti-colonialism. This may shock you, but intersectionality has no central component of black struggle, slavery, feminism, whatever. It is irrelevant. What matters is maintaining small coalitions, and keeping them fighting for crumbs. Have you seen the latest tik-tok video? A guy looking like you is savagely murdered by people who look like the people across town. Let me see your contacts list, so I can recommend the video to them too. Wokeness is not part of the mass movement it intends on creating. It is a brahmin religion. In a properly managed woke world, me and my black neighbor would go to work, smile at each other, work diligently and come home and rage out to these videos, carefully trimmed and packaged by the Woke.
I must address the main diversion levied by others that are 'anti-woke,' as I believe this is a misunderstanding.
Wokeness is two things- the embodied ethics of intersectionality, as I described, and this other, more commonly referred to thing- and it need only be mentioned because this kind of conversation is the domain of those most familiar with it- hastily constructed high society manners a la the Victorian Era Britain.
You are reading this, perhaps you are in grad school, seeking a position in government, up the corporate ladder- do not mistake these for one another. Getting #MeToo'ed by a co-worker who wants your position is probably much scarier to you, but this would be replaced with homosexuality charges or leaving your chateau without a corset under another regime. It's not absolutely indistinguishable, but by function. The only function here outside of this kind of career warfare that matters is controlling narrative deviation.
I would caution you to not make too much of this. This always exists. Hierarchies need some kind of mutually shared rules of engagement. You might lose your job because of some stupid tweet you made 10 years ago that was critical of current intersectional goals, but this is mostly irrelevant to the Woke mission. Ladders of hierarchy need games for the hungry to climb them, and this is theirs. The achievements that raise a priest to bishop are not the same kind of thing as the mission of Christianity. They will appear similar, though. The difference between Mark Fisher’s “Vampire’s Castle” and Mencius Moldbug’s “Cathedral” depend mostly on where you are standing at the moment.
Where does this leave the institutional, corporate Right? They are complicit in this, you know. They will be fending off calls from their proles demanding ethnic patronage for them, until there are few enough whites to grant this. Even Robin DiAngelo fantasized about this- a coming "White Identity." This will happen- and it will produce a state more like modern day Lebanon than the third Reich. But rest assured this will remain illegal until the numbers make sense.
Have you ever read these hot takes about "Straight Black Men are the White People of Color", warnings to "Karens", lambasting asians, this sort of thing? These are primordial rumblings for the next cell division. They will be stripped of dignity, labeled evil, racist, or what have you, and told Do Not Vote For Us explicitly, as poor whites were told after the scare Bernie Sanders gave the elite in 2016. He damn near won the primary with an expanded electorate- an electorate of people not plugged into machine politics, an electorate too large to be sated by a regional DMV office or a white phosphorus plant in their neighborhood.
Rogue control over a democracy. Create identities, attack them, keep the heat up, and the megarich never have to worry about the commonality again. It's easy for the elite political class, the woke, to arrange ideal (for them) political coalitions when you can move people around a chessboard by what you look like. It’s not that people don’t want universal health care and less imperialism, it’s just hard to compete with the immediacy of hate, violence, and quotas. Schmitt said that politics was nothing more than the relationship between friend and enemy- here they hold a reliable method for defining these categories. How do you direct this kind of voting? These are millions of people, and this kind of skullduggery on such a scale would be glaringly obvious. Consider Rabyaah Althaibani, Bernie Sanders surrogate, her slogan being “Galvanizing the Arab Vote.” What a delight! What does she want? Who cares? I bet it’s cheap.
What might resistance look like? Should we Heal The Wounds Of America? Public groveling, more sensitivity training? I believe the answer has already been found by the woke. All that funding went somewhere, we might as well not waste it. The answer is to respect the concept of the ‘evil eye,’ that is, what you don’t know can’t hurt you. To get caught in this dialectic of trying to directly address the deep suspicions and wounds from difference, is to lose the game. Watch how they debate with the “anti-woke left”- they will never acknowledge that they so much as notice the other’s argument. “I’m not sure what this is, but I’m sure it’s bad.” This is the key to navigating these nauseating “hot takes,” cruel social media witch hunts, and so forth. Poke fun, enjoy the hot takes for their absurdity, and just never stop talking about cash money.
